Athletes and active individuals often experience pain in their extremities because they are often unable to hold up to the stress they put on their bodies.   One of the more common areas of injury is the elbow. Lateral epicondylitis (aka tennis elbow) and medial epicondylitis (aka golfers elbow) comprise the vast majority of elbow pain in individuals.  These injuries typically occur due to the repetitive activity; however, it is also possible to experience pain due to acute trauma.

Lateral epicondylitis is marked by soreness or pain located on the outside of the elbow at the lateral epicondyle.  The pain experienced at the elbow is caused by inflammation of the muscles that extend the wrist.  Meanwhile, medial epicondylitis is a condition in which an individual experiences pain or soreness located on the inside of the elbow at the medial epicondyle.  This condition is caused by inflammation of the muscles that flex the wrist.  Repetitive flexion or extension of the wrist is likely to cause inflammation of the muscles resulting in pain.

ChiroConcepts of McKinney has a combined 17 years of experience treating a variety of conditions in the athletic realm, including tennis elbow and golfers elbow.  In fact, ChiroConcepts works with multiple schools’ athletic programs throughout McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Prosper, and Lovejoy to ensure that the athletes are functioning at their optimal level.

The McKinney, TX chiropractors at ChiroConcepts of McKinney provide a variety of soft tissue therapies that work to make sure the muscles are acting appropriately and healing the way they are intended.  ChiroConcepts uses Active Release Technique (ART)GrastonKinesio-Tape and a variety of other soft tissue therapies to effectively remove the scar tissue and accelerate proper muscle healing.  Furthermore, ChiroConcepts applies an adjustment to make sure the spine is in proper alignment which allows the muscles, spine, and nervous system to work at their optimal level.

ChiroConcepts uses state of the art technology to not only determine the appropriate diagnosis, but also to aid in determining the proper course of treatment as well as objectively track the progress made throughout the duration of treatment.  Use of MyoVision technology accurately assesses the tone of the muscles to determine if they are functioning at their optimal level.  Additionally, ChiroConcepts monitors the progress of treatment through the use of J-Tech instrumentation which accurately measures the athlete’s range of motion.
